What our content, training, certificates and tools are, and what they are not.
1. General information
Content on our website, in our Insights articles, webinars, social media, sales materials and free resources is general information about quality, compliance, safety, operations and related subjects. It is provided for educational purposes, may not reflect the latest developments, and may not apply to your situation. Examples, scenarios, names, part numbers, record numbers, dates and figures in our materials and demonstrations are fictitious or illustrative unless we say otherwise.
2. Not professional advice
Nothing we publish or generate is legal, export control, regulatory, safety, engineering, medical, accounting, tax or financial advice, and no attorney-client or other professional relationship is created by using our website or Services. Laws, regulations and standards change and depend on the facts. Before acting, consult a qualified professional who knows your situation, such as an attorney or licensed professional, and confirm requirements with the agency or standards body that issues them.
Our training and tools do not replace your export counsel, your safety professionals, your registrar, or the qualified people your company relies on.
3. We are not a certification or government body
QMS Learning is not a certification body, registrar, accreditation body, government agency or standards organization. We do not certify, register, accredit or approve any organization, product, process or person. Our internal audit services are internal audits, not certification or regulatory audits, and they do not predict or guarantee the findings of any registrar, customer or regulator.
Our own ISO/IEC 27001 certification covers our information security management system within the scope stated on our certificate. It does not certify our customers or their systems.
4. Training, certificates and exam preparation
- A certificate of completion shows that a learner completed one of our courses and met its completion criteria. It is not a license, an accredited personnel certification, a government credential, or authorization to perform any work.
- Employers decide whether a person is qualified, competent and authorized for a task.
- Where a safety or transportation rule requires site-specific training, a hands-on evaluation, a qualified person decision or an employer certification, our online instruction covers only part of the requirement. The employer is responsible for the rest. We do not describe our training as "OSHA certified" or "OSHA approved." OSHA does not certify or approve training programs, apart from its own Outreach Training Program. We are not an OSHA Outreach Training Program provider and do not issue Department of Labor cards.
- Our training does not include CPR or first aid certification unless a written order says so.
- Exam preparation courses are independent study aids. We do not guarantee that anyone will pass an exam or earn a credential.
- No single body certifies Lean Six Sigma belts. Any belt certificate we issue is our own certificate, issued under the criteria stated in the course.
- Requirements that vary by state, such as workplace violence prevention and harassment prevention training, are described for the states named in the course. Other states may differ.
5. AI-generated content
Our AI coach and AI workflows generate drafts, explanations and suggestions. AI can be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and can state wrong information confidently, even when it cites a source. Treat every AI output as a draft that a qualified person must check. Nothing generated by our Services is approved until an authorized person at your organization reviews and approves it.
6. Quality, compliance and trade tools
- Document review tools read the documents you provide. They do not inspect, test or authenticate physical parts or materials, and cannot detect every falsified or counterfeit document.
- Screening and verification checks depend on government and third-party data sources that can be incomplete, delayed or unavailable. Name matching can miss matches and can produce false matches.
- A possible restricted party match is held for review by your people. Our Services never clear a party, part or shipment.
- Export classifications produced by our Services are drafts, not determinations by any government agency.
- Accept, reject, hold, quarantine and release decisions, recordability determinations, and reports to customers and regulators are made by your organization.
7. Illustrative results and return on investment
Time savings, cost savings and return on investment figures on our website and in our materials are illustrative calculations, not results we have measured for any customer, unless we say otherwise. Your results depend on your people, processes and use of the Services. Any worksheet we provide is a tool for you to estimate results with your own numbers.
We do not publish customer names, logos, testimonials or case studies without the customer's written permission. We do not guarantee any particular business, audit, certification or compliance outcome.
8. Standards, trademarks and affiliation
References to standards, regulations, credentials, agencies and organizations identify the subject matter of our training and tools. They do not mean that any of those organizations sponsors, endorses or is affiliated with QMS Learning.
